FEATURED IN THIS ISSUE

 Jessica Fidock & Paul McCullough.

Jessica is the youngest daughter of Colin and Michelle Fidock, who lived in Noojee for nearly 10 years. Colin, Michelle and the girls, Bianca and Jessica, left Noojee for Darwin in December 1986 and have lived there since. Colin’s parents, Mavis and Len Fidock, also lived at Noojee before moving their family to Chelsea in the mid 1950’s.  Colin headed back to the bush when he was 16 and worked for the Forestry Commission.  He met Michelle while she was camping at Noojee over the New Year’s weekend in 1976.  Both their girls, Bianca and Jessica, were born at Neerim South Hospital.

Jessica married Paul at 4pm on the 5th June 2010 at Crocodylus Park, Knuckey Lagoon, a suburb of Darwin.  The reception was held at the park as well – between two lagoons filled with crocodiles!!!!  The guests were taken on a Safari Tour around the park and were also able to hold some of the local residents (a snake and a little crocodile).  It was a lovely night under the stars and listening to the splashing sounds of the crocodiles and the roar of the lions!  Very unique…..

 Merle Crotty & David Green

Merle Crotty and David Green were married at St Augustine's Church of England Church, San Remo on the 17th July, 2010.  About 40 people attended including family who flew in from Tasmania & NSW.  A reception was held at the Pelican Resort, Phillip Island where Merle & David will be making their home.

Merle and her late husband Jim were well known in Noojee when they owned and operated the Noojee General Store and Post Office.  This is also David’s second marriage.  David has long been associated with the Noojee district through work, most recently being responsible for the seed extraction program at the DSE depot.  David  has also been very active with the Neerim District Lions Club and many other community services.  We wish them every happiness.
